The last weekend of March, a friend and I went to Hobbiton, the movie set of 'The Hobbit'.
For my birthday, I went swimming with dolphins and seals. The original plan was to swim only with dolphins, but the organisation said that the dolphins were moving away from our bay, because of the winter coming. So they suggested an alternative excursion, to swim with seals that live around Whale Island, in their natural habitat. The day we went out, our Captain heard that there were dolphins hunting at 20 miles from our bay. So he decided to check it out for us. After 2 hours in the boat, we finally saw the dolphins. There were thousands of them. So we went out in the water and holding on to a rope, the boat continued to drive so that the dolphins would swim with the boat and thereby with us. It was an amazing experience. After swimming with those beautiful creatures, we went back to Whale Island and encountered seals. We went back into the water and this time we freely swam with the seals, who were very curious and playful.
